Cathy & Marcy’s Old Time Coalition with Cathy Fink, Marcy Marxer, Becky Hill, Rachel Eddy & Em Hammond Take the power and passion of a fiddle, five-string banjo, guitar, mandolin, cello banjo, bass and harmony singing accompanied by the energetic percussion of feet on a board off the front porch and put it on stage paying tribute to the past, present and future conversations between traditional and contemporary music . Our mission as a band is to share the love of this social music and dance in concerts, workshops and community outreach. We are ambassadors of this music and dance tradition. GRAMMY winners Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer are a powerhouse of sound connected to a love of community and ability to apply art and music to their passion as “social music conductors.” Rachel Eddy is a native of West Virginia who grew up in a musical family steeped in the traditions of Appalachian music and dance. Becky Hill is a sought after percussive dancer, Appalachian square dance caller, choreographer, and educator, dedicated to creating innovative choreography tethered to traditional music and dance. Em Hammond holds down the bass, and adds banjo, harmony and percussive dance. INCITE JOY!
